Here's a graphic I made for the wx/net program website.

I started with this image of Tux, the Linux Penguin. Using Paint Shop Pro, I removed the wings, increased the color depth and retouched the left foot. Next I created the thermometer, anemometer and, new wings as separate new layers in the image. After aligning everything just right, I made a copy of the image. The image copy was converted to 256 colors, merged into a single layer and scaled down.

There are a lot of variations of Tux on display at The Tux Gallery. A Tux was even found etched into the silicon of an IC, you can see it at the Silicon Zoo.
